Mileage

I have a 2002 F150 4.6L. With a light brushguard and backrack. My last tank of gas I got 10.8 MPG. I have a superchips flashpaq running the mileage XS tune, gotts mod, fresh plugs 3K ago, stock tires.

WHAT CAN I DO TO GET BETTER MILEAGE?? Im only 18 so paying $75 a week to fill up is a P.I.A.
Thanks

I'm in the same boat. But averaging 12-13 combined hwy/city.

Have the same truck but with a 5 spd.

This tank of fuel I'm going to try driving like I'm 80 years old, shifting at 2k rpms. So far it seems to help alot, but I'll know in a few days.

I would feel lucky to get 15-18 city or hwy right now. If I didn't need a truck for work I'd be driving a honda civic or something.

shifting at 2k wow try 1500-1700. Remember these are trucks. my window sticker said estimated 13-14 city and 17-18hwy i think

basicly your truck has increase wear some how. your engine needs an overhaul. i got a 97 4x4 with the 5.4 and the auto tranny, and i get 16mpg mixed city and highway.
i suggest a new truck or engine and make sure to keep up on oil changes to give it a longer life. it may not seem like a great idea but thats the only way you will get your millage back up.
also go on the freeway and open it up, get some of that crap burnt up thats in your engine.

Do you have a stick shift f 150? I dont know how you'd get anywhere shifting at 1500 rpm.

It may be a truck, but its not a friggin semi truck. Although it shifts at the same speed.

Change your air filter and fuel filter. It makes a huge difference
