Melted Third Brake Light Bulb Socket
I have a 2000 F-150 XLT and I've been doing LED upgrades on all the interior bulbs and it looks fantastic so far. However, I ran into a bit of trouble on the high stop cargo light socket when I went to upgrade to the brighter LED bulb. I twisted out the socket and it was melted in there and I couldn't even get it back in the light assembly. I've looked online for replacement sockets (Rock Auto, Napa, Auto Zone, etc.) but all I saw was the three prong connector sockets for a wiring harness clip like the headlights and turn signals have. I am not sure if these sockets will work since I noticed that the socket in the brake light was straight wired without a harness clip. I am not sure where I can go to get a replacement socket or if I should just order a whole new LED light assembly. I can only assume this is a common problem so does anyone know where I can find the part I'm looking for and how to fix it correctly?
