Default MC 1-1/16 vs 1-1/4

1999 F150 4x4 Off-Road with trailer option.
5.4L, Auto, 5-lug wheels.
4-wheel DISC brakes

I purchased a Motorcraft Master Cylinder
#BRMC-69
F75Z-2140-NC

It is stamped "1-1/16"

The MC on the truck looks identical, except
it is stamped "1-1/4"

I do NOT know if the MC on the truck has been changed or not.

My questions...

Which is the correct MC?
1-1/16
1-1/4

Does it matter?
Can either be used?
Will there be a difference is braking?

This is just a complete guess here, one could be for disc rear brakes and the other from drum rear brakes, but again, I know. What rear brakes do you have? I'll look at my numbers in the morning.

Sorry, I forgot to look but I just took a look and can't find either of these numbers. Where are you finding them?

Are you 100% sure they are identical? I said the same thing about 2 weeks ago and found out one that said would work was missing a fitting in the MC

Picture of existing MC showing showing 1-1/4
and new MC (both sides) showing 1-1/16

notice location of stamping on left-side,
directly under tank,
in front of mounting boss...

(and sorry for the delay, I pulled four shifts at the firehouse...)

Default Reason to buy new Motorcraft

The reason I purchased the Motorcraft was it is all-new , AND it included ALL the attachments;
tank with grommets,
electrical connector,
and whatever that extra connector on the rear-most line outlet is...

I have drum brakes in the rear and my stamp on that pump says 1 1/16. I'm just going to assume that the 1 1/16 is for drum rear brakes and the 1 1/4 is for disc rear brakes. The reason I assume that because when I looked into changing from drum to disc they said I would have to change the master cylinder. Do you have disc rear brakes, or drum?

It is a production change in 12/99. They used 1 1/8 prior to that date, except for certain applications. If you would of ordered your m/c for before that date, you should have the regular sized one. After 12/99, Ford shows the updated m/cyl. Hope that gives you some info. Your part number shows for 1997 to 1999 Ford F150 with 2wd and cc and rear disc brakes.

RAYBESTOS MC390183 will give you the correct part. Good luck.
