I have a 1998 f150 4.6 with 3.55 open ( but putting in locker before towing ) i was wondering what i could tow its an ext cab 6' bed if any one has ideas what it would pull with 3.55 locker

Manual or auto?

 

With my 97 f150 4x4 stock every thing auto tranny i pulled a 10,000 pound bob cat around i wouldnt do that every day but it will do it. also pulled a 86 chevy suberban( gross vehicle weight 8,600 pounds plus this thing had been lifted with big tires and was loaded full of tools and construction materials not too mention i had too use my equipment trailer 8ft wide x 20ft long it weighs 2,500 by it self) from Weatherford, Ok too Joplin, Mo top speed was 65-70 depending on wether u was goin up a hill or not. but i also just blew a head gasket at 230,000 miles too lol. I also hauld all kinds of cars and trucks cross state fairly often. so thats what my 97 can pull.

Last time i checked with ford the actual vehicle tow capacity is 8,000
