Just wondering... why would you need a new motor to supercharge? If I've taken care to upkeep my truck oil changes, spark plugs,etc... is that not really enough.

well just with aging its more prone to break if u add more power to it. If the trucks with in 60k youll be good but anything over 100k its already gone through 1/3 if not 1/2 its life. Also your motor is used to the power it has now so anything added just doesnt put stress on your motor but every other part

Not to jack this thread, but...
Im seriously thinking about supercharging my truck. It has about 100k on it. Ill prolly just run 6lbs with it though. Will I be okay? I have mantenced it well and replaced a lot of stuff in it.

Would it be bad to run more than 6lbs of boost? like 8 or 9?

i'm with thumper....once you get close or above 100k, i wouldn't go adding boost.... not without revamping the engine....i would think that even with 6lbs of boost, you can probably kiss your headgasket goodbye
