Looking for a good eFan for my 4.2
I was wondering how many cfms I should get some say 3k and some say 2k so idk? What brand? I do t want any junk yard crap on my truck so I'm thinkin flexalite?

If you don't want any "junkyard crap" then yes, Flex-a-lite will be your best bet for quality. It doesn't take much to cool this motor down so 3,000 cfm or similar would be plenty sufficient. My "junkyard crap" has been working fine for the past 2 years at more than half the cost, just some food for thought...

My junk yard crap has been working great for almost a year, of course I did get lucky and find a less than 1year old tyc fan that had been installed as a replacement. $25 but hey to each his own. If you have money to burn by all means do so.

I should correct my statement I'm not saying all junk yard stuff is bad but the yards around hear suck! What fans did u guys get from the junk yard? I can't really afford big expensive fans either but I mean I don't want to start overheating my truck with something that's crap u know I guess that's the gamble! I'm new to this so idk how big the fans need to be or how many cfms or what brand.. I would think 3000cfm Is sufficient!

I've got 3.8l ford windstar fans pulled from a junkyard. I know at least 3 other people using the same fans and none of us have had any problems. I'd start with that, then decide in what controller you want.

I think I'll get the contour fans! What all do I need to get to wire them up? Is there a way to have one work if the other one kills over or do they need to both run at the same time? And is there a way to make them slowly come on instead of the relay just turning on and off cuz that may jolt the system? Jw

Will work for parts
Look at the madfan's mine has been great. It's basically a mustang fan flipped and fits a stock f150 shroud. Mike the owner and developer has the BEST customer service I have ever dealt with ever.
It also controls the currant draw on startup and has an adjustable thermostat. Clean install, perfect customer service, and great cooling all in one stop. Last summer I was stopped in traffic for 2 hours in 105 degree temps and the gauge never moved with the air blowing on high.
