so i did a differential flush a little while ago on my '01 and when i went to napa to get a new gasket they showed the gasket for a stock f150 is 10 bolts and mine has 12 bolts. so i was wonderin of it was like an upgrade or somethin. also i looked online and it looks like the 01 f350 rearend has the same dif cover on it so could it be an f350 rear end? and i dont know wut gears i have lol. the little tab on the rear end doesnt say... any help would be appreciated

i wonder if it were part of a tow package or somethin back then with the bigger rear end but im not sure!!

mine is the same deal so i used blue sealent for the diff cover if thats the gasket your talking about but i think it was like a hd deal or something i havent seen another one with it mine is the 10 1/4 rear end its prolly the same as yours

I think the 10 bolt is the 8.8" and the 12 bolt is the 9.75" The 9.75 is a very common rear on those trucks. My 08 has the same one.

yes, 10 bolt is 8.8 and 12 bolt is 9.75. I had this same problem. I couldnt find the right gasket to save my ***. I tried telling them I have 9.75 rear diff. They give the gasket for the heavyduty rear diff. Same pattern, only bigger, to hold probably 4.10 gears. I just made my own gasket. Works great!

My '03 FX4 SCrew has the 12 bolt rear as well... the blue gasket type sealant is what you need.
