longer u-bolts
i am about to add a extra 2 inch block in the rear of my truck i already have a 6 inch block in the back so im stacking the blocks so i need to get longer u bolts can anyone tell me were to buy some
|
Never stack blocks. It's an accident waiting to happen.
|
should i use a add a leaf then but i still need longer u bolts
|
I personally think a 6" block itself is asking for trouble. I would go with a new set of 8" springs in the rear, and do it right.
There is a reason that you will have a hard time finding u-bolts that are 8" longer than stock. It's just not safe. I have a local shop near me that makes u-bolts on the spot. Just give them dimensions, and it takes a few minutes. It's actually cheaper than anywhere else. Look in the yellow pages for a "spring" or "suspension" shop. http://www.truckspring.com/suspensio...eaded-rod.aspx |
Add a leaf would be better, and it'll net you something like 950 pounds extra payload capacity

^ Agreed

^ agreed x2
sorry I can't help yeah out, go on ebay or google the size U-bolts that you need and i'm sure something will pop up |
Check 4 wheel parts, thats where i got my blocks from, they also had oversized u-bolts
|
Stacking blocks is a horrible idea.
Most small offroad shops have longer ubolts, but some machine shops can bend you some pretty cheap. If you want the best, do 8" springs, or atleast smaller block and AAL.. axle hop would be intense the instant you hit dirt. Especially with your big tires.. your looking at trouble. |
