Default Logo swapping

Has anyone here swapped the side panel f150 logos from an 09-12 to a 98-03......I thought about this idea a few weeks ago and a couple of days later i noticed a truck like mine(01 btw) had already done it and beat me at my own idea but the person had switched out the ones on his tailgate. If anyone has done it please let me know, and if you had to drill additional holes to the body, because i want to add the logos that light up. the inly thing is that these logos are specifically made for 09 i think and higher.

Yes it's a common modification. Most don't worry about the holes and just reapply with 3m tape

What you should do to be a little different is get the 2013 Limited emblems and not the XLT, Larait emblems. The Limited emblems just say F150 and nothing else. I swapped my FX2 emblems to limited emblems.

Mine is an XLT, but I've got XL on mine. Simply due to the fact that I got them for free... just make sure you cut off the alignment pins. You're gonna have to. I just used a hacksaw.

OK, it's not a close-up, but here's what the fender logo looks like on a '98. It's the Lariat badge, which I needed, only because I expect to lose the pinstripe when the truck goes in for a repaint. I only cut off ONE of the tabs on the new emblem, and used existing hole to line it up. I kept the original "Triton V8" emblem, which actually looks cool in it's original location.

Nice bro, my truck is also black but mine has no stripe running across. Btw did you use that double sided tape?

I don't know about him, but I used mounting tape. Pretty much the same thing, but a bit more heavier duty depending on which one you get. You can get the stuff from Walmart, Lowes, a lot of places.

Those have the flat backs, right? Not the curved ones like the ones on the tailgate? If so, then I think I found out how I'm gonna do that then...
