Default Power Lock Actuator replacement

Hello,

Well my 2002 F150 Supercrew has seen the normal gamut of issues. Plug and coil #8 died at 65,000 miles, the starter died this winter and now my driver door power lock actuator has given up.

I talked to the dealer and was appalled at the $90 + tax price tag. Found one on E-Junk much more reasonable. However the old one had pins on the outside that the metal mounting bracket slipped over and there is a piston that sticks out of the housing and connects to the power lock via a junction plate.

The new one just has a swing arm on the side with a 1/2" pin sticking out at 90 degrees and no pins for my metal mounting bracket to mount to. It does have a clip that looks like it should clip into a metal bracket somewhere.

I talked to the shop where I bought it and they insist it is the correct part and that midway through the 2002 year Ford switched from my old style to this new style and that even the dealer would be selling me this new style.

I have been staring at this thing for an hour trying to figure out how it would install in the truck. The company was unhelpful with any kind of diagrams or instructions for retrofitting, they just kept insisting it is the correct one. They will let me return it but I have a feeling I am stuck trying to make this new style work.

Anyone have experience with this?
