Question lights

I have a 2002 Ford f-150 and when I first got it my lisence plate lights didn't work. Now nine of my interior lights come on the dash, stering wheel, or doors. And when I turn my lights on I can turn them off by the switch I have to turn my truck off and eaither lock the doors and close them for them to go off or I have to unplug the battery. Could this be a problem with my switch or something else

I vote the switch as well. There are a number of electronic components (transistors, diodes, etc) that can either short or open, which ruins the logic of the switch. Most of it is associated with the auto lamp portion, but it it's bad, the whole assembly needs to go. I got one off an Expedition on eBay for $20 + shipping. This one even came with the fog light option. Go there first before chasing other electrical ghosts.
