Going back to the radio reception/static issue. I did the MH1 35 watt projector retrofit and with headlights only on my radio is basically useless. I have relocated the ballasts to a non metal surface, cleaned and re grounded the ground lead, did not help so then ran the ground to the battery. None of these suggestions have worked. Has anyone found a solution to this issue yet? I read where someone tried the ferrels and that did not work for them so I haven't tried it... figured it was a waste of time and $$. Oh and a FM signal booster just makes the problem worse.Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The only sure fire fix i have seen is to replace the ballasts.

Yep what jprevat said ^^

I drove myself crazy trying to figure it out. The issue is the 35 watt ballast. 55s don't do it and neither do the fastbright 35s. If you have the 7.0s I would recommend the 55 watt ballast, if not then the fast brights will fix the issue. Or it did for me at least

The older ballast don't seem to have the issues the new ones have. It's different from truck to truck, where you run your wiring, where you mount you ballast, and what radio you are running. I didn't have any interference on the stock radio when I had my 35s for my headlights and got a little with the cheap jvc radio I have now. Then I moved my 35 ballast to behind my fogs when I retroed them and the interferance was crazy.

That's odd. My ballasts are mounted on top of the header panel basically above the headlight. My wiring is ran with the harness that runs along the top of the core support above the radiator. I have do have the older 35w setup though. Radio is a Sony single din.

I'll have to pay attention to this when I retro my supercrew.

That was my exact placement when I had 35s in my headlights and it don't cause to many issues.

This is exactly how mine are setup. Wiring following the factory wiring on the core support too and ballasts tucked in the pocket above the headlights on the header panel.

I don't usually have any issues with it since cleaning my grounds to be sure they had a good connection to them all. I will get static from time to time but overhead power lines also usually end up playing part of a roll in that too.

I have the xb35 ballasts. Not sure if they're the newer or older ones though, but they look just like the ones on TRS that you can buy new, unless they've revised them internally.
