Default Lifted f150 needing new tires/rims

I have a lifted 2001 F150. I'm looking for either smaller tires/rims than what I already have or just smaller tires for the rims I have. What do you suggest? https://www.f150forum.com/attachment...1&d=1353985069

Need to see pictures of your whole truck. What size are you running now? How much lift?

6 inch lift kit. I don't have the original tires/rims, I bought my truck like this.

What's wrong with the size on it now? Anything smaller will look a little odd.

Are you trying to go back to stock size? Do you plan on keeping the lift?

I agree, I like the stance of your truck, it looks stinkin' good!!! A smaller tire would just look odd to me, but it's your truck.

Thank you. I was just trying to go with something a little easier on it. I've replaced my front rotors in the past year. The mechanic that did it recently told me whoever put this kit on didn't bother to upgrade the brake system. So its a factory system stopping a lifted truck with huge tires (which are by the way very heavy, it takes two people to put one on.) It has 150,000 miles on it, so I plan on keeping the lift. And last Friday I accidentally ran into a doe. But I got really lucky. All that happened is it threw my alignment off badly, broke the light bulb in my fog light (not the lens), and cracked my plastic bumper around the fog light. But I've had a really hard time finding a mechanic around here that can do an alignment on my truck bcuz of these huge tires. I found only one, so of course I set up an appointment. They all told me either their machines wont fit bcuz the tires are huge or that the clamps on the machine will not get a grip on the tire/rim bcuz the tires sit about 1/4th of an inch outside the rim. The mechanic that said he will do it told me the same thing but that it might scratch the rims. So I thought once these tires wear out that it will be a good idea to get smaller tires, or at least a different tire. I currently have 18 in rims. I do think stock size with a lift would look rediculous though.

Where are you at.? My shop in Northern California does alignments on lifted trucks all the time. Sounds like lazy mechanics to me.
