Default lift kit question??

I got my CV axle replaced and the boot was sucked down when I picked it up. The mechanic said it's because when they installed the lift kit they used the stock upper control arms instead of the aftermarket. And the CV joint was streched as far as it could go??

So what is the question?? The mechanic told you what is wrong. Where is the disconnect here? Mechanic: "they didn't use aftermarket control arms" Brain: "I do not compute. Control arms? Yes, I have 2 of them that I control, also have 2 hands.".

We know nothing about your truck. By lift of course I assume you have a custom made, one of a kind 13" lift.

I bought the truck with a 4.5 inch lift I'm just trying to figure out what the difference between the stock and aftermarket one would do?

Your upper control arm has nothing to do with clearance or your CV.

Is there a spacer between the CV shaft and the diff? If there isnt somebody forgot to install it again.

The control arm that came with my kit was a lot wider and beefier, if that answers anything, IDK what they do in relation to CV axles, but that's how mine are.

Then your spindle must be wider? Anyhows, it all still has to be centered within the control arm. The only issue I can see that the OP posted is like carcrazy stated: if the control arms are longer than OEM a spacer would be needed.

Lets clarify something for everyone of you, So that you understand whats included in a lift kit. The front rack width is changed via the crossmembers. The spindle doesnt effect the front track width and no bolt on kit uses different upper or lower control arms. They all use different spindles tho. If you have a lift and the installer didnt install the CV spacers they fudged up.

Well I looked at it and the passenger side is not sucked down and it has a black piece about 2 inches thick but the drivers side is sucked down and has the same piece I can't find the difference?
