Default lift done, bigger tires done, gears next - couple of ?'s

Hey all, I have an 02 f150 XLT 4.2L supercab... It's a v6 and 2WD.

I was able to lift her 3", put on some 275/70/r18's... and she looks good... but of course a little more sluggish... the rear gears are the stock 3.55's.
I mostly due highway/town driving here in LA, but may do some light towing in the future. I was wondering what the best gears would be to give me the performance and mpg boost.

I've read a lot of posts that say 4.10.. and i've read a lot of posts that say 3.9x.... I was wondering what you all thought and why? also, what can you expect to pay for gears swap? And lastly, is there anything else I need to purchase in regards to a gear swap?

thanks as always.
J

4.10s for sure. With the 4.2 and those size tires it'd be much more enjoyable to drive.

Yeah 4.10 would definately be a neccesitty for towing, but the only downfall is that your highway MPG might drop a bit due to higher rpms
