Default Leveling Kit for my 2000 F-150?

I just put 33" Toyo's on my 2000 F-150 and I want to raise it a little. I also want to level it out but I'm not looking to spend a lot of money on a lift. If I put a leveling kit on and then the Add-a-leaf I'm pretty sure the truck will still be tilted forward like it was stock, just a little higher. Is there anything I can do so when I put the leveling kit on and the add-a-leaf it will be level? The only leveling kit I can find for my truck is a 1.5" kit. I was also told that the leveling kit will put too much preload on my torsion bars. Has anybody had any experiences with this or any advice?

I would just crank the torsion bars and be done with it. I havent heard of a leveling kit putting to much preload on the torsion bars so i cant help you there. But, some people say to never tighten the torsion bars b/c to much pressure can be put on them, but people have done it forever. If you were going to be installing the leveling spacer i would do that b/c the spacer should run around 100 bucks, installing yourself will save hundreds. Also if the leveling kit puts to much pressure on the torsion bars tightning them would do the exact same thing, this is true if the spacer puts preload on the bars which i believe is incorrect im not sure tho. The only way to avoid this would be with a full suspension lift.

About putting the AAL on.... this would give you the stock look but maybe not as much. I'm not sure why you would put one on unless you just wanted to raise the intire truck and not just the front end for more clearence. The AAL will give you a stiffer ride while also avoiding the bulldog look while towing trailers.

BTW very nice truck and welcome to the site!

Thanks for the advice and the welcome. This is the site that has the leveling kit http://www.autoanything.com/suspensi...readylift.aspx It comes with aftermarket torsion keys. I do want to lift the entire truck but I don't want to lift it over 3". I would also rather use a suspension lift instead of a body lift but I haven't been able to find a 3" suspension lift for my truck.

Are you trying to get the three inches of lift or are you just trying to fit the tires you just put on?

At first I was looking around for a 3" suspension lift. I couldn't find one so I started looking around for the next best thing without spending a lot of money which would be leveling out the truck and having it look a little higher/ stop the tires from rubbing when I turn. Also besides from being a lot of money, I think a 4" suspension lift would look a little too high for these tires and rims. What do you think?

I believe that with a 4inch lift you would be looking fine but maybe just a little on the small size tire wise.

Im going to have to look around for a litlle while before i say something that would embarass the hell out of me, lol, as far as what problems the 3inch spacer will create.

Ok. You can crank the torsion bars and get as much as two inches of lift, or anywhere inbetween. Just make sure that you turn each bolt the same amount. The three inch spacer will put very bad angles on the cv joints, causing premature ware. So I would just crack the bars and add an AAL if you want the stoch rake and help while towing trailers. Good luck.

Ok thanks for the help. One more question, have you ever seen or heard of a 3" suspension lift for a 2000 f150?

Sorry i just checked skyjacker and they make lifts for a lot of trucks and they just make a six inch lift for your truck... some other brands might but none off the top of my head.

Edit: pro comp makes a 4inch lift kit. http://www.explorerprocomp.com/PDFs/07cat/28-43.pdf its on page five
