Default ???Less MPG with a K&N Intake???

Can anyone explain to me why i lost near 3mpg hwy after i installed a K&N Intake????

haha you can't keep your foot out of it?? I have been slowly outting back all my stock stuff and finding i was better off with the way ford made it

No, Like i have a flat 2 mile stretch of hwy that i test my impg after doing any mods to my truck. so i set it on cruise right at 70. used to get 18 to 19. now its like just a dead 15!!

Well tat just F'n gay! It seems like it breathes better, but i dont feel any improvement in hp. Think im goin back to stock!

i went from 16.25 to 16.51 mpg. so I gained.

yep the truck is always going to give you a stoichiometric ratio for air to fuel, meaning the more air the engine takes in, the more fuel the engine is going to need to get the 14.7:1 air to fuel weight ratio.

Some things do help you though, like if you can change your trucks tune so that the engine shoots for a diffrent ratio, actually running lean gives you more power to a certain extent, but with more power, you also have more heat.
