Largest/heaviest haul?
Question my step dad needs to sell his 2500HD he wants to know if my truck could pull the 33 foot avion airstream syle camper. He said it weighs around 10,000 lbs. We needa know if my truck could pull it safely without fishtailing or anything about an hour an 30 minute trip to the lake. I have a 2002 f150 fx4 xlt with the 5.4

Took a load of scrap in one day and weighed in at 16,000lbs with me and a friend in it. My truck it about 5300 if i remember right. The ol 5.4L didnt hardly grunt. Otherwise it hauls some old farmalls around regulary which average 7000lbs with the trailer.
I hauled around 8500 2 hrs and 6000 back 2 hrs and she handled it no prob. But the steeeeeeep mountain passes were a little much for her.
Why ask a question only to disregard legit advice given?
Like stated, at the very least, you need a WDH and trailer brakes/controller to be safe(er), and some tires to be that can handle the load.
Even then it's still well over the legal limit of the truck.
If the trailer really weighs 10k, the tongue weight will be around 1000 lbs, the stock hitch is rated at 500-600lbs tongue weight without a proper WDH.

I will tell you, don't get rid of a 2500 then "volunteer" your truck to tow. Pulling this was rough enough with a W/D hitch and my truck smelled.
