Default key stuck in ignition

can't turn ignition to the lock position in my 02 f150. If I take the cylinder out it will go to lock and can remove the key. But in the column I can't. Any suggestions?

Idk about the cylinders in our trucks but in a house lock cylinder when this happens it's a result of loose screws/rivets on the tab on the back of the cylinder which results in the inner cylinder putting sheer force on the pins while you pull the key out (meaning the pins can't retract out of the way to let the key out). Try with one hand holding the inner cylinder in while pulling out the key with the other. This is what would work in a house lock cylinder.

I got half way through reading your post and was going to tell him the same thing. To try and push the cylinder in. A guy at work yanked a cylinder out of a door cause his key got stuck.

Hold the steering wheel, twist it as far as you can and try removing it, you may have it in a bind. I've seen it happen
