heres my luck guys i finally foun a guy to trade me an 5.4 extended cab 98 wich is what ive been lookin for bigger truck v8 4x4 and the weekend before i was gunna meet him to trade i took it t the shop to fix a simple oil leak or so i thawt turns out it need over $600 in work needs rear main seals new clutch and lots of hours in labo so itss this my luck or what???????

These things happen ALL THE TIME. If i'm buying a vehicle, I generally expect there to be something wrong, especially if the person doesn't give a good reason for selling the vehicle. You could of avoided buying the truck with these issues if you test drove it. You can tell the clutch is wearing out (On a manual) if it takes longer than usual for the clutch to to grab. You should have also looked into oil leaks, because not all of them are simple fixes, there are oil leaks that can cost ~$1000. I personally try and avoid buying cars with oil leaks, and if I really wanted it, I would have brought a mechanic/friend to inspect the leak and determine where it's coming from before I bought it. The only thing you can really do is suck it up and get it repaired or sell it and try again :/ It may/may not be worth repairing depending on the mileage, condition, ect.
