I've seen plugs only last that long on the modulars. Not too sure why they dislike other plugs so much. Same with coils.

I've run aftermarket coils and autolite plugs on my other Ford's with no issues..... but these things are ****.

Well, I guess I'll find out later when I have the code read.

Well, I had to code read and it read: Miss fire within the first 1,000 revolutions. I had them reset it and it hasn't come back. They also told me that it could be the transmission. The next time that it is having issues at a stop light that I should put it into neutral to see if it stops. If so it could be the torque converter. If so, that sucks for me but it would be an answer.

Well, "they" are an idiot. The transmission does not cause misfire codes. Period.

Well put. I do know that my transmission has problems but that's a different discussion. It has not thrown the code again sense Wednesday evening.

Does anyone else have a clue where to look now. All I can think of is letting my truck run outside my garage while I do other things till I hear or feel it misbehaving. I hate to waste the fuel, but when it hesitates it wastes fuel too.

Do you know what the code was? I mean the number, not description.

So I replaced all the ignition coils, could it be the computer board that tells them to fire?
It's not a 4.6L. You said you changed the plug wires....there are none lol. That year 4.6L doesn't have plug wires, unless someone swapped in an older engine version.. Since your that confused on engine type, count your spark plugs, how many are there ? An 02 with wires would have to be a 4.2L V6. 4.2's have just one coils, you mentioned coils in this post lol. Yea, get the simple straight, then try again. Too difficult to help if your not even sure which engine your working on.
