Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) stuck open code: P1518 Troubleshooting advice
The mechanic I was using who bailed on the IMRC job said Seaform WONT help that issue, but after reading what you said,
its possible the runners may be trying to move the assembly, but theres deposits inside in the manifold openings or butterfly
assemblies making it sticky. So Sefoam seems def worth a try.

Use "carb foam" to clean the upper end and those intake runners
It's part of a 30k injection service at the dealer to clean the throttle plate and the upper intake every 30 k with FORD carb cleaner (foam)
Otherwise, the linkage will come apart or the runners will break

Well, at the dealer, we used what we had (could get easily from parts)
I've never put a tennis shoe in sea foam but if you get the Ford carb cleaner on yours you will shortly need another pair
Like putting your foot in a bucket of carb cleaner it is, the tread will come off your shoe in short order
Not sure sea foam will do that

Interesting point. Dont know whats in the intake that could dissolve with the Seafoam, except perhaps the
isolator bolts?
They have a rubber/neoprene sleeve on them thats suppose to be blocking off I think passages between the long
and short runner chambers...?
If they are already cracked and allowing passage, the Sefoam could displace some slugde that could get wedged in the cracks
and act as a seal...yes I know. Hopium.....

With Seafoam you're either burning product whitish smoke.or grey black, the advanced coating burning off the converters. Heard it works better in a Briggs.
Ford did have some great services. The BG service. The upper GI for a combustion motor.
Motorvac service is/was the best imo.
