Jbrew has picture of the mod for that hose. What I've done I pulled the hose out replaced the orings and then you slide a hose over the top of it with hose clamps. You do that and it will NEVER leak. Jbrew might post picture of it

I don't think he's going to know what your talking about. He's referring to another hose, -PCV. Not the heater core.

I think this is what Jethat was referring to, Brewster.

I saw that, but there is no hose under there, just a hard line. So I thought he was referring to the picture. Iduno, hard to say lol.

LOL, true. I hope my truck already has the updated pipe. The motor has a tag that says 2001 on it.

You can see with a flash light, but I seriously doubt it. AFAIK, only the Ford remans got it, not the original engines. At least that's how it's always been.

Mine has a reman tag on it down by the starter, and as I recall it says April of 2001. I will have to look though and see.

This also would explain why my truck does not have the "burr" leak.

I don't think was ever a case like this...a reman being a better engine than the original lol.

Yea, check it out, I'm curious now. Not sure when they began doing that with the remans. Had to be right around that time.

Back in town and will try tackling it this weekend. Parts arrived for the most part (just waiting for the PCV hose).

The mod I assume you mentioned was the metal pipe under the intake with the 5/8 hose and clamps so you dont have to mess with the orings. I ordered and have the Motorcraft KT3 hose, will pick up some 5/8 hose and clamps. Am I correct in that the o-rings are just removed and not replaced?

As documented in https://www.f150forum.com/f6/heater-...368933/index3/

I also ordered a Motorcraft water pump that I will attempt to install since everything is apart anyway. Currently researching the pulley removal.
