Has anyone tried using a fifth wheel or gooseneck hitch on a 1997-2003 f150 supercab longbed? If so, How is it? I thought of something that someone else has probably asked. Can we combine any of the longbed with the same model year f150 supercrew cab? Not that I would do it...... yet.

A guy I work for has a '99 F-150 that he put a goose neck on for his hay trailer. It's a beat to crap farm truck though lol. I never rode in the truck, I always followed behind him because I loaded my truck down as well but it seemed stable going down the road.

well my grandfather took a fifth wheel from Arkansas to California in a 1996 single cab, short bed, 4x4 f150 with the 300 inline six and a 5 speed, and his truck had over 220K miles. He put some air shocks in the back to help with the load. He is also a retired truck driver of 50 years. He said it was slow as hell, but it drove fine...


Not exactly the same, but I would assume the longer truck would be able to handle it better. Assuming you don't over load the rear suspension.

Kean, - instead of attempting to re-invent the F150, what's wrong with purchasing the type truck made for the things your after ?

I've seen a screw with a stepside bed on it but they had to make the frame longer for it I'm pretty sure, as far as a simple bolt on swap no

exactly if you can weld anythings possible. Heck if you wanted you could have a Supercrew with an 8foot bed you just need to extend the frame and get your CDL.
