hey theres people who own a chevy on here too. im just trying to get the right truck, yall must've had family or friends with a chevy or gmc. f150's are cheaper though so itll probably end up being an f150.

I've owned two Fords and one Chevy. The Chevy was losing the transmission at 96,000 miles and also had other issues,such as a leaking roof which left everything soaked. So I sold it and bought the Ford that I have now. I didn't buy the Chevy,I've known for years that you're better off investing in a a case of bottled water and 10 speed mountain bike than a Chevy and a tank of gas.

Yes, you can fit 33's!
I grew up with Chevy's, my first truck was a '91 Silverado. The older Chevrolets '98 and older are unbreakable. These new ones on the other hand, not so much. The reliability is just under par to me. I could tell you several stories about the '07 and up Silverado's that are ridiculous. The '04-08 3V F150s did have problems with the 2 piece plugs that they require. And the 5.4's had problems with cam phasers, as stated earlier. All Chevrolet 5.3's develop a tick after awhile, our local Chevrolet dealership claims its completely normal. On a pushrod engine imo, its not. I just think Ford has the better truck as far as quality and reliability. Sure Chevrolet may have more bells and whistles, but to me that's all show. Whatever choice you make, do your research. Use the forums, contact your mechanic, talk to people that have owned them. Hell go to autozone and price random parts that generally go bad on either. Sorry for the long *** post. Just tryin to give some insight and an honest opinion.

They really are! If you were to find an old 350, find one backed by a 700R4 or a 4L80 tranny, the 4L60E's are junk. Like greenheadkiller said, you'll replace them every 50k. My old boss' dad had a 95 with a 4L60E in it, babied the truck replace one every 100k, finally got rid of it with over 350k miles.
