Idler Arm Bracket Ripped off

Idler Arm Bracket Ripped off
This is where it came apart from the frame
So, my Idler arm bracket busted off..it's not bolted onto the frame, it was factory welded on..my question is can this safely be welded back onto the frame? Several places I've talked too said they wouldn't touch it because it's a liability, I did find a place that's pretty confident they can fix it but the other guys have me wondering how safe it's going to be..

Is that idler arm bent??
This has to be right or steering affected
Not to mention loss of control and death for you or others if it fails
The first question is not how to fix it
The first question is why did it occur
The second, is how to insure it wont happen again if it is fixed.
Im not surprised no one would touch it.
if metal is good, it can be done.
If metal is hardened by movement and fatiged, it will just break again.
If its corroded you wont get full weld either
if vehicle is lifted or oversize tires, no one in right mind would touch it. And you should immediately remove those modifications too.
You can bolt it in place, then have someone weld it too
but likely need to start by cutting a. Good bracket off a junkyard vehicle, and not use that one thats damaged

Agreed.... that's not a part that just falls off. You need to figure out why. Has the truck been wrecked? Ever hit anything really hard?
I am also not surprised you can't find anyone to weld it, as it is indeed a liability. Also, this is not really something you take down to Larry and Bob's Mufflers and have welded back up... it really should be looked at by someone with experience doing frame work, or you might be back on here asking "why did this happen, again?". Proper positioning is futile.

Exactly ^^^ . Not sure if a collision shop would touch it, they might. A frame shop shouldn't have a problem with it at all, - it would be fixed correctly.

Also, As Mr white89gt and mbb mentioned, need a shop experienced w/frame work, they (not you) also would need acquire a cut-out from a repeatable salvage yard. They might send their guy to cut one out. Let them handle that.
What ever the price, pay it..don't want to mess around with that fix. It might not be too bad, depends how much they have to remove on the vehicle for elbow room. Looks like they have some as is, not sure if that will be enough.
