I was looking online earlier and seen the bondo fiberglass patch kit at advanced auto. Think im gona try your solution before riveting or welding. the one side is around the wheel well and i think the fiberglass would be easier to form than the metal. Would you recomend the fiberglass clothes or mats or just use the cardboard on the back of the holes and just the long strand fiberglass filler?thanks

you got pics of these holes?

cause if you're looking just to pass a quick inspection, i'm thinking i've got THE MOST REDNECK fix yet for you.

glad clin wrap, a heat gun or hair dryer.... and a can of box liner.

simply run the glad clin wrap over the hole, hit it with the heat gun to make sure it'll stick to the truck... and then spray it all with the can of box liner.

yea i know it has absolutely no hold fix!!! but if you're going slam a wood box liner in the truck, you may as well save a few bucks as it is.

pretty sure you'll fail if inspector man sticks his finger on it... lol..

As long as you get the long strand fiberglass the cardboard should be all you need. I never use the mat stuff. After patching from the rear of the hole I always spread some on the front side of the hole to reinforce it. An electric sander is good to sand it down quickly.

Don't forget it would be good to get some rust treatment stuff like Ospho before doing it..if there is rust.

ok thanks. I deff need the Ospho. About how long does it usually take for the fiberglass to cure to be able to sand down. My garage is abut 30 min from my house and dont know if I did it in my friveway and let it sit overnight if that would effect it much.

It dries super fast especially in the summer. Should be dry enough to sand in 10-15 min.

The holes are not in the bed floor. I wish they were but theres 2 small ones on the driver side right after the fender well and the passeneger side right abouve the fender right on the bend is where the big rot while is.
