I smell fuel in the cab any ideas?
When I run my AC I sometimes smell fuel. Usually comes on when I come to a stop at a light or something. It's a 97' 4.6L. Any ideas?

Well, check for fuel leaks. There shouldn't be a reason to smell fuel unless there is a fuel leak. If you only smell it when the truck is cold it could be an exhaust leak... I say that because these trucks really don't make too much of a exhaust smell when they are warm

I have a 97 with a 4.2l I had a gas smell. I looked under the drivers side and there was drops of gas on my springs, looked under and found it was the little line that runs up to the gas filler neck.

Geezz, I wouldn't smoke that's for sure.
Check your injector O-rings, - look toward the top of each injector while they're installed. Usually wet at the top when leaking.

A bit late but here is what the issue was. Right after the fuel filter there are two lines that go up and over the transmission and to the front. One of the lines was rubbed through against the frame. I used a pipe cutter and used rubber fuel rated hose to fix it. No leaks no fuel smell

Thank you everyone for the fuel issues
I too have the same issue with smell of fuel inside the cab.
Its good to know instead of asking for help, I can go here and start troubleshooting the right places.

Mine gives off the smell of fuel sometimes because the EVAP solenoid is bad. It will throw a code from time to time, but I just clear it.... lol.
