Rough idle.
Hi guys! I just changed the intake manifold gaskets on my 2001 5.4. Truck runs and idles rough. I’ve checked everything I can think of and nothing seems out of place. Any of you had this issue before? Thanks in advance!

Yea, you can really screw it up if you don't follow the outlined procedure in service. Many do this job twice.

Getting any codes? Running rough like a misfire? What's your idle RPMs? Make sure all the coil plugs are securely fastened? Did you break any coils?

That too ^. If you let coolant leak over the coils, mounted them wrong or let the spring detach inside the boot.

Yeah.... you've got a vacuum leak. PCV valve and hose get correctly put back on? Oil cap get put back? Otherwise, you're looking at leaking gasket(s). You've got unmetered air entering the combustion chamber.
You didn't give a lot of details on your intake..... I do know that if your intake is an aftermarket Dorman intake, you MUST use their gaskets, as they ARE indeed different than the factory gaskets.
