Default How to replace rear window?

Im replacing my rear window from a solid pane to a slider hopefully this weekend. Does anyone have any advice on how to do this? And does anyone know if the window is held in with just urethane or if it is also bolted in from inside the cab? Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks y'all

Did the same thing to my 98 about seven years ago. Forget how many nuts there were. I took my window and surround out together. You'll have to remove the side interior trim pieces, the piece across the bottom and the headliner to acess all the nuts. It is also held on by an adhesive/gasket. Mine was leaking and came away pretty easy. Dealer wanted $41.00 for a new seal, I spent $8.00 on a caulking gun size of permatex.

Get the 3M Window Weld tape from the parts store. there are 12 bolts you'll have to take out. Just don't over-tighten the bolts when you put the new window in- I did and it cracked the plastic piece attached to the glass, so I've still got a leak...:-(
Do a forum search and you'll find several threads on this...
you don't have to totally remove the headliner- jst pull it down far wnough to get a wrench up behind it for the 4 bolts across the top.

Thanks for the advice! Could you put some RTV sealant in the crack? Maybe that will stop the leak, or of course silicone
