Nice. Do you have any pictures? I’m guessing you cut around the old rust instead of welding over top of the existing rusty metal?

Have a 2011 XLT with 39,000 miles that I just replaced both rocker panels on and had the hood sanded and repainted because of rust. Not real happy about it since I took care of the truck and kept it washed in the winter.

Doesn't matter if you washed it. It's gonna rust eventually. Rust proofing would have been better....

Yep. Seems the the bottom of the radiator core support and the isolator holes in the core support brackets off the frame are the first to go. Next around here is the quarter panels and the bottom of the doors but the bottom of the doors is usually because the weep holes get plugged up and the bottom of the doors collect water.
