Talking FINALLY Getting my new Headunit! Pioneer 4300DVD

So, finally convinced the parents to let me get a new radio for my 03 KR and I am finally ordering it this weekend!!

What I'm getting:
-Pioneer 4300DVD Headunit
-iPod cable for plug and forget iPod play
-Parking brake over ride cable
-Boyo License Plate backup camera

I cant wait. Its their Christmas present to me and to myself since we are splitting the cost...~$750 total for install and everything, not bad considering the Unit normally retails for $500!
Pics will be soon to come, gotta get my parents to take them because I'm based in VA and I wont be able to see it myself until after I go home to Ga for christmas.

Anyone had the 4300 or this type of backup camera before and have some feedback? Thanks!

Don't have one, but I have been eyeing them up for a while......trying to find a reason to justify why I actually need it....

I've got the same head unit. A tip, and this is a big one. Get the Soche dash kit, not metra. It looks waaay better. I've had them both. Oh yeh a tech tip as well if you have a custom background assigned to the source you use for watching dvds, you have to unassign that custom background in order to watch whatever dvd you are playing. Not even sure why the unit lets you assign a wallpaper to that source anyway.

What I just said may not make any sense now but it will. Drove me crazy trying to figure it out.

Over all I love the unit. Can't imagine one I'd like better for anywhere close to that price range.

I was getting the metra but now I'm.just letting the installer use theirs so I'm just going with what they have.

Yeah that don't really make sense but it sounds like if you put your own background on the HU, which I plan on doing, you have to chagrin it to one of the stock ones to play video? If so...not a big deal, I'm not gonna use it much for video anyway.

Do you have pics?

How hard is it/how do you add your own backgrounds? Can you put it on there and keep it or do you have to leave like the SD card that its on in the HU?

Thanks!
