no totally agree but sometimes when I go to change oil the place is out of 5-20 so I use 5-30 sometimes. That little bit isn't really gonna matter Ya know what I mean.

Worked at a balancing shop that made half shafts and drive shafts. It's balanced by itself. When it goes on a vehicle they just grab it and mount it.

never said it was a rule, I'd rather put it back the way it came off.

Yep no difference. You can balance the driveline as an assembly but it would be expensive for very little payback. We even modified the 4.6L mod motor crankshaft, when it was in prototype stage, to be adjustable in balance. We nailed that sucker dead nuts. The business that owned us developed and built balancing machines.

I have a 2001 F150 Harley S'crew...

At around 300,000 miles I was hearing a loud roar and a vibration from the rear end, and I replaced my U-joints, thinking this was causing the vibration in my rear end.

Didn't fix the problem...

It turned out to be a failing right rear wheel wheel bearing, and I had let it go too long - it ruined the axle.

Took it to an axle shop and they replaced the axle and the bearing,

Cost was around 500.00.

(Truck now has 380,000 miles. Still using the original transmission & water pump, had to replace alternator at 275,000...)

I've had a really bad bearing on this truck on the drivers front and the sound I'm getting sounds different than a wheel bearing. But I will jack it up and see if there is any play in the tire.

Also, have someone wiggle the wheel around. If the wheel has play up and down, watch the ball joints and tie rods. If they don't move, and wheel still has play, you know it's the hub assembly

The cap is pretty much gone and I can move it a good 1/4"
Does anyone know the exact size of those 4 bolts? I couldn't find any 12 points at my place so I will have to go buy one.
