how can i check if IMRC motor is good?
im going to be doing the lower intake manifold gasket on my 02 f150 4.2 im pretty sure that the imrc motor is dead i tried to put new bushings in so either a rod fell out or the imrc motor itself is bad im going to check it out and pop the cover off and see if the gears are moving once the manifold is off. how can i go about checking its function? can i attach it to the posative terminal ojn my vehicle and turn on the truck and rev it to 3000 rpms and see if the gears inside of it are turning? not much experience checking electrical i deffinitley dont want to put new rods in and bushings in and a gasket just to find out the motor is dead and than i have to do teh grunt work all over again

I'd check out youtube, there are a lot of IRMC related vids there.
I had a 4.2 for a while and found tons of good info there
as I recall I watched vids on several different vehicles to get the info I needed
wish I could be more help but I haven't had a 4.2 around since about 2010 I think

Makuloco shows a "self test" that can be run. Probably need Forscan or the electronics that Makuloco has. You might use the term "self test IMRC" and see what comes up in a search.
The main leak point on the 4.2 manifold is the isolator bolts, as I understand things. If you're trying to fix a P0174 or P0171 code. They press in to the internal mounting points. Easy to replace. https://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-NEW-03-...-/263616218954
