How's the sound if you just do straight pipes off the rear two cats?

I've always wondered this same question. Will hollowing the rear cats and putting them back in change much? I mean it should be louder after that but will there be more rasp or any MPG loss? I love the way my exhaust sounds now note wise i just wish it was a little louder, and rasp makes any exhaust system sound like s**t imo.

It makes the exhaust note deeper and louder, with a lot less rasp than if you just got a midpipe without any cats.

You wont lose any MPG from it, if anything you would gain a fraction of a MPG due to a little less restriction.

The 2 elbow "cats" are just resonators. Hollow them or replace them with a piece of pipe and your good to go. It won't throw any codes.. the 2 front cats will cause emission problems and codes..

Well I ended up cutting off the 2 back cats and replaced them with flex pipe. Gave it a little tone, not alot but about what I was looking for. Have drove 100 miles and havent thrown any codes. Thanks everybody.
