Smile Hey what's up? I'm new here, I have a paint question

I just got a 1997 Ford F150 extended cab 4x4 and it needs body work and a paint job. I was just wondering how much paint would I need to paint the whole truck? I'm planning on changing the color if that matters. Any help would be appreciated.

Go talk to a reputable bodyshop and find out how much they will cahrge to shoot it for you if you are doing the bodywork. That way it will go into a paint booth so there is less chance of something getting into the paint.

A gallon will be sufficient with some extra incase you need to repaint. It also insures that you have the right shade if you ever touch up or repaint. I paint jets for a living so i have some knowledge in this area. Your going to want at least 2 coats of clear coat after words which will consist of about 2 quarts. You can decide on what type of primer you want to use. Hope this helps.

Make sure to use a sealer before base color because of the color change.
