Default Hey guys

Well after a long wait to upgrade from my ranger, I finally sold her. Gonna miss her but I love the new (to me) f150. Just bought a 2000 f150 4x4 5.4 and I'm very happy with it so far. So much more power than the ranger and much more space. I'll post pics as soon as I can my phone won't let me but pics of my old truck and new are in my gallery! Look forward to using these forums and modifying this truck soon as its all mainly stock right now!

Welcome man! I'm a previous ranger owner like you, and I know what you mean about the power difference... I had the 3.0 and went to the 4.2. so much better.

Thanks man! Yeah compared to the ranger with the 4.0 and 33's the f150 is much better. Got some good plans for this truck I plan on keeping it a while probably going to do exhaust first

I also have a 2000 with the 5.4 and four wheel drive, you're gonna love it! What do you plan on doing to it? These trucks look great lifted. I can't really comment on power because I've never driven a stock truck with a 5.4,but mine isn't what I'd call fast. I guess that's what happens when you put 37s on a truck with stock gears!

I'm not really sure yet, I'd really to lift it I have seen your truck and its sweet I would love to have it like yours eventually haha but I don't have much money right now so I'm thinking I will crank the torsion bars and put a small block in the back for now

Bryan. I have an 02 with a 3" body lift. It's great. It's not so expensive, and yes it's a pain but its something you can save money and do it your self. It took me a day and a half to do all of it. But you do have to put in consideration that I was drunk. Lol.

I agree with 2002F150,I've got a 3" body lift on mine and unlike a lot of trucks,it does not look bad. On Chevys body lifts look horrible and on the older Fords they don't look too good, but our body styles aren't bad. I had a Chevy owner tell me he had no idea I had a body lift until I told him, then he had to go look for it himself. The only place you can really tell is in the rear fender wells.

Your totally rite Jack. Plus I had bought a body lift depleting kit. If your worried about the same that will show between the body and mainframe. Just buy this kit and its just like mud flats on your back tires but sideways and blocks from others seeing you have the body lift. Plus doing the body lift keeps your same mpg's instead of a suspension lift totally messes with it. And no power loss.

I had a body lift on my 2000 and if you have someone helping that's replaced a whole body on a similar truck its a breeze
