Did you go into settings in the app and set it up for your adaptor?

yes the app is connected to the obd2 but it won’t connect to the car. The little image of the car is flashing all the time.

is there anything in the advanced settings I need to touch ?

Best probably go to auto parts store and check it works with a wired obd. They do that free of charge any oriellys autozone etc. Unless there are actual settings in the app for protocol type, which I doubt there would be. Maybe try forescan app if it’s available for the android.

Do you not have this app ???
I can’t go to a autozone I guess that’s a american thing. I live on a small island near Spain. If I use my own obd2 scanner I can connect to car clear faults and what not.

the thing I need to know is what obd2 Bluetooth connectors are people using on the Ford F-150 lightnings. As the one I bought will not connect to car but will connect to the app

there Is lots of protocol options but obviously I don’t know what one is needed to be selected for my car.

In conclusion

what obd2 Bluetooth adapter??
what settings need to be adjusted in app ??

any help really appreciated making me crazy to set this up.

J1850 is what you’re looking for I believe. Upload a screenshot of your settings.

Did you buy the super cheap reader?

I have the BAFX unit and it works great.

Amazon Amazon

The Elm looks too cheap to believe.

If he needs that then that would be the problem.

From the Elm327 page - "Not Support J1850 VPW and J1850 PWM Communication Protocol"

The BAFX handles it - "ours works on ALL OBD2 protocols including J1850"
