Default Help! My 1999 Step Side is DOA

We all jumped into my wife's car to head over for some turkey with the inlaws yesterday and the car battery was too low to start (damn kids left the lights on). So I jump into the trusty Step Side and proceeded to jump the car. While jumping the car, the hood of the truck came down and I assume the hood created a short across the battery terminals by coming in contact with both battery jumper clamps. Now it won't start. The battery saver relay is clicking nonstop even with the keys out. I've checked the obvious fuses and relays and found nothing. Suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated--need to get back on the road in time for work Monday. Kind Regards.

Try unhooking the battery for a while then hook it back up

Was the first thing I tried. No luck. One other thing, I went to roll up one of the windows yesterday, it got 1/2 way up then quit. I fear I may have fried the GEM.

Did you try putting a new battery in? You probably cooked your current one if the window was closing, then stopped. As for starting, check all your fuses. Especially the maxifuses. When you say no start, is it trying too start (starter engaging, engine turning over) or just nothing?
