I have those lights but no clue on the reflector. I know when i got mine there were the normal 500's, and then 500FF's. I got the FF's cuz they cost more so i figured they were better. Is that...the difference? the 500's have one, and the FF's have the other?

Free form: is more of a spot light or driving light, it shoots the light beam straight forward.
Parabolic Refector: spreads the light out a little more, like a parabola. Not the same as a fog light tho, those are an even more spread out beam and generaly aimed lower. Hope this helps

Also Free Form lighs generaly have a clear lens and parabolic light have obstructions in the lens caused by glass "bumps" on the inside of the lens, these are what help disperse the light

x2 free form lights have a focused light pattern, ive got the Hella 700FF and the light pattern has little spread to it but are pretty bright.
