It took me until Oct of 2013 on my 1999 but I suddenly had only the HIGH speed working.

I guess I am lucky it lasted that long.

Much thanks to the people here!

I am not much of a mechanic but I got er done and it works great. I went and bought the part ($24), a ratchet extension to work under there, dug out a mirror of my wifes and also one of those little LED lights with the hook to light it up under the dash.

Working in the mirror and by feel I got it out and back in and it worked great.

You guys are wallet savers!!! Thanks again!

So here's my heater/ac issue:

1st, Fan works at all speeds, correctly
2nd, defrost works well, when I switch to PNL/FLOOR or FLOOR, the air only comes out of the defrost. Towards the end of summer is was doing the same thing for the A/C, every now and then it would cycle from defrost to the PNL's but always resort back to defrost after a few seconds. I am guessing it is a vaccum line?

Any suggestions?

2001 F150 V6 4.2 Stuck in Defrost
Here is a Video of how I fixed my 2001 F150 XLT where the Heat and Air-conditioning was stuck in defrost no matter what I turned the AC/Heat selector control switch on. Hope this helps some people's feet stay warm in the winter.

Hope this helps.

2007 F-150 SuperCab, 5.4L, Auto, duals, Undercover, LineX, 98K
I have a heater-A/C fan blower motor problem. No 1st Low spd. I have 2, 3 & 4th spds but nothing at the #1 control position. I had it in the shop today (not the Ford Dealership) they told me I need a new switch. I haven't looked into it yet. I thought I would look here for help first. I see other posts but not really anything on a 2007. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
kcblueoval

Check your blower motee resister. Under dash, passenger side. Two screws pull it out and replace.

Default blower fan switch

After reading the posts of the great guys on this forum, I went to the parts store and picked up a new resistor. It was almost too easy. One of Ford's "Better Ideas" I guess. Perhaps a Ford engineer actually has an F-150 and has had a failure to repair.
I wish the spark plugs and the coil pack were as easy. Getting access is the hard part. At least the ones against the firewall.
