Question Headlight bulbs

Maybe a dumb post, but I'm new. Just got a license, first car, and all that jazz. Anyways, one of my headlights burnt out, which is bad, because I'm a night time delivery driver. But I ordered some silvania bulbs, jus standard 9006 bulbs to replace my old ones with and they're supposed to get here on Wednesday. How do I install them? I've got a '98 XLT 5.4L V8

Pop the hood open, look above the headlights, there will be two tabs above each, simply lift up tabs with some wiggling, the entire headlight will now come right out, unhook electrical, unscrew ring on headlight a third of a turn counter clockwise, remove ring, remove the bulb, install a new 9007 halogen bulb, reverse order but do make sure all three legs on the headlight assembly go into their holes before locking it down with the tabs.

Just remember, NEVER handle the new bulb by the glass, always handle it by the plastic base, oils on your fingers can cause premature bulb failure (2-3 minutes is average) The bulb can only seat into the housing one way so observe how it came out. It's really easy and quick.

Did you order 9006 or 9007? Your headlight uses a 9007 bulb.

Page 250 of the owners manual shows you how to do it.

Should be enough room to change them without having to remove the headlight.

There isn't. Remove the headlight. No point in destroying new lights because you didn't want to take the minute to pull the pins, and then reset them.

It'll be faster to pull the pins anyways.

Thank you guys! I ordered 9007 bulbs, and heard that you shouldn't touch the glass, but had no idea it mattered that much. This sounds pretty easy though from what you guys said. Idk why it said 9006 up there. Typo, I guess.
