My 03 supercrew has started to act up. When you go to start it sometimes, it turns over to start but need to keep turned for a few seconds more before it fires up. I noticed a little smoke from the exhaust today when it happened. runs fine, not missing and no rough idle. Battery is good and turns over good other than this. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks

what color smoke? was is smoke or just heat vapor

Alt good. More like vapor

maybe fuel pump.. try the K.O.E.O method. key on engine off a few times before the start up. See what that does.

okay, will give that a try but whats this going to tell me?

they told me when i had my ranger that the fuel pump was getting weak. Didnt send enough fuel on start up. U could get the fuel pressure tested first and go from there., Have u changed fuel filter?

No, but getting ready to send in for maintenance service. I'll have them change it and go from there. Does seem like not getting enough fuel to fire.
