Default Grill Guard Questions

Ok, I have a 2003 f150, and I am wanting to get a grill guard for it. Sorry if these questions are stupid, I just don't know that much about them.

First of all, it's a 2wd. How will it attach to the truck? How easy is it to mount a grill guard?

Second, what are the better brands out there? Black Horse and Steelcraft caught my eye.

Also, if you guys have any pictures of your truck with a grill guard on it, please post them and say which guard (brand) it is, I want to look at all my options.

Thanks in advance.

For a 2wd most should come with brackets for either 2wd or 4x4 applications, at least mine did. Attaches to the frame by where the tow hook bolts are.

Westin is pretty popular from what I've seen for this body style

I have a Go Industries Rancher Grille Guard, a little pricey but if you're going for some real protection and not just looks then it is a great one to get-hasn't let me down yet

Here's mine, it's a westin and very easy to install. Two brackets that bolt between the tow hooks and frame ( on mine an anyways) and two support brackets that bolt to the guard then to you bumper brackets. 15-20 minute job.

From your user name is it safe to assume your from Texas? If so there is a company in Schulenburg that makes brush guards, their name is Gauge (or maybe its Gage), either way that is what I have. It was kinda a Pita to install but I was installing it at night too... It bolts right to the frame. You will have to cut the valence in order to make it fit a 2wd. Mine would fit better if I didn't have the body lift.

Spend the extra 600$ for a replacement HD bumper you'll thank yourself in the long run!

The problem with a new HD bumper is that I'm 17 (not much cash) and my XL isn't lifted or anything, so I'm worried about it looking kinda small up against the bumper. Also, thanks for the pictures guys, they are really helping.

Yeah I looked all over it, couldn't find anything! It came with the truck when I bought it! I've been looking online to find another one like it, but I couldn't!
