Default grease monkies, ASSEMBLE!!!!

Ok, so on my way to school my truck shut off out of the blue. I was driving and might've brake a little too hard when I got to the stop sign from 65-0 in about 150ft idk (nothing too crazy though) but my truck started jumping like if the calipers got stuck, and the battery light came on. Ok, here's the weird part, my radio stayed on and the power steering pump went out too. So my first thought **** my serp belt, so I pop the hood and the belt was still in tact some awesome guy helped me push it off the the busy freeway and I left it there for like five mins. Took the key out and turned it up and it fired right up. ANY IDEAS WHAT IT MIGHT'VE BEEN GUYS? My baby is an everyday driver and I need by tomorrow.

Oh yea, I took to O'Reilly and autozone, and both said the battery and alternator were good and I even did the old school alt. Testing where you disconnect the battery while the truck is running and it stayed on. One of the guys at O'Reilly implied that it might've been the fuel filter, but that still doesn't explain the battery light turning on.

Please don't ever do the old school alt test again. That is really bad for every electrical component in the charging system. Your battery nearly serves as a cranking means and a huge "diode" in protecting your system from spikes and other harmful electrical gremlins. If your battery is ever required to power your truck, you will get about 10-20 minutes use out of it.

Sounds to me like the truck's transmission stalled the engine out? Possibly due to the quick stop, ti wasn't able to downshift properly, or quickly enough? If you battery light came on and had no power steering, your truck was most likely not running and you didn't notice. Did the truck drive fine after you restarted it? I'm totally spitballing here.

That's what ran through my mind too, but after a couple of minutes I turned the key and it turned right on and drove pretty fine. I also thought my engine locked out but it still has oil. I did notice when the truck shut off I was pressing the gas and it wasn't revving. I guess "stalled out" is the correct term.
