[sarcasmfont]I never would have assumed anyone in your family was a cop based on the attitude in the first reply. Nor would I ever have imagined that you might be a cop as well!
And that second part, about 90% of cops breaking laws without getting in trouble, that's new information to me, I've never heard of such a thing! I can't imagine that corruption exists in any police force, especially in Florida of all places![/sarcasmfont]
That quote is priceless.
Sorry that I struck such a chord with you in my first post about cops using silly things like window tint and license plate lights as a reason to pull people over an violate their civil rights, for most people that don't have the luxury of having a family of cops, while entering the police force ourselves, that's just reality.

Tint always makes a truck/car look a lot better. I don't know how people go with out it. If I were you I would go ahead and get 50% on the windshield. I did 50% on mine a few weeks back and love it.

Too Loud? Too Bad!
Not trying to start anything with you man. Just being honest about how things are where I'm from, if you look over the fence at the police station corp yard where all the cops park their cars you'll see almost nothing but lifted trucks with mods. Different cops, different areas different attitudes. That's just life, yes having police in the family and becoming one myself has it's perks, but it doesn't make any cop outside of town or that doesn't know me less likely to pull me over.

Do they get those for every vehicle in their family? I doubt the overweight woman I often see driving with them on display are also cops. Is this just a sign to other cops to say hey, my husband is a cop?
And once you get pulled over, what's the process for letting the other cop know that you're also a cop? Do you have a special card? Show them your badge? Obviously that must be one of the first things that come up when a cop is pulled over by another, if they didn't already see the huge badge on the windshield.
I'm not one of those idiots that hates cops and I'm sorry if it sounded like I was getting personal, but it's pretty easy to pick out cops on forums the way they get all defensive and stick up for the actions of the other several hundred thousand cops all around the country, speaking on their behalf saying things like "if you're not an idiot, they don't bother you".
Imagine a plumber sticking up for all other plumbers? "No way man, plumbers never rip people off, plumbers are good people!"
It's just weird.

Then why do cops have those big shiny police badge shields on their front windshield with suction cups that you can see a mile away?

Lmao^^^ Down here, in the very rare.event that people put stickers with police badges on their cars, its because they either have relatives in law enforcement, support law enforcement or know friends in law enforcement. Not to mention, ive seen the sticker maybe twice in my life. It in no way will cut you a break. If your a cop and get pulled over for a traffic violation, usually just show your badge and could maybe get off. But recently, I've been proved wrong by California highway patrol not giving a **** either way. Lol thanks for the good laugh from your post though. Always can tell a cop hater on the forums when they get sooo defensive over a post about something to do with cops on a forum and cop window stickers? Hahaha

I'm talking about the big shiny police badge, it looks just like an actual police badge, only about twice the size, they stick it on the windshield right above where the inspection sticker goes. What is the purpose of that other than to let everyone, including other cops, know that you're a cop?
Cop hater? Wow, that's quite an accusation, sounds like slander to me!
See what I mean, before you even went into the bit about your badge not working on CHP, I could already tell that you were a cop just by the first few sentences.
Just like the OP 'they only mess with you if you're an idiot.
As far as showing your badge when getting pulled over, that's the kind of crap I'm talking about. I'm glad CHP didn't care that you were a cop, why should they? If you broke the law you should be treated like any other 'civilian', as you cops love to refer to us by. The word civilian in itself already creates a divide, and that's the goal.

All I did was make a joke about people getting violated by cops for having illegal mods on their car, which happens all the time, you took it a step further and said that cops will only violate you if you're an idiot - a comment like that opens the door to criticism. Being that you're a cop in training, you should choose your words a little wiser.
I asked you some questions about the special treatment cops receive from other cops and I'm "hating".
I don't see any hate in my post, I asked some legitimate question, especially wondering why you guys always blindly stick up for each other.
It's always some line about how the only time a cop bothers anyone is when they're an idiot.
Most people in this country have either personally been violated or know someone personally that has been violated by the police, this is where the distrust comes from, it's part of your profession, hopefully you'll be one of the good ones.
