If your going to spend the money on upgrading I would step up to at least 4.10s for 35s so you can at least notice some performance and ease the stress on your trans. Gears almost always cost the same or close to wether its 3.55s or 5.13s so just stepping up one gear size isn't worth the $1000 that you will be spending if you have a 4x4.

Holy crap what are your RPMs at going like 60?

And for OP, you can get a set of G2 gears for around 250$ for your axle and shouldn't pay more then 250-300 for labor

I ran 3.55's with 35's and even 37's for 3 years or so and It wasn't too bad... I blew out my gears last night so I ordered 4.88's. Don't swap to 3.73. I'd do 4.56 if I were you

are you 4x4 or 2x4? say you have a 2x4 so that is $250 for the gears, $250 for the labor and say another $250 for the install kit so there is $750. Take the others advice and don't go 3.73 you will notice little if any difference.

Gearing isn't as spendy as one might think.... Again it all depends on if your doing it yourself or paying someone to do it. I just ordered 4.88's today with the master install kit for $300 shipped to my door... Granted I need to buy another $300 set for the front but I'll be tackling the gears by myself.

Where did you get your gears? I am getting ready to regear and at that price I might look at doing it myself.

http://www.ronsmachiningservice.net/servlet/StoreFront Very nice people.... You can even get it for cheaper.... I could of got USA motive gear for $245 with everything needed but I decided to go with Yukon because they are more quite. If you call him up, Ron will talk to you and tell you everything you need and the nice thing was that I ordered today and he shipped out today
