Default Suspension Lift question

I am thinking about buying the 4"-5" Rough Country suspension lift now and buying the rims and tires in a few months. What I am wondering is, why can't I run my stock rims and tires with this lift on my truck? I would'nt think it would hurt, but it specifically says not to. Need to know something before I invest. Thanks Jack

As far as I know, you should be fine. As long as you get an alignment and everything else is in order you shouldn’t have an issue.
You will look goofy, but that’s it.

The reason you cannot run your stock rims is due to the back spacing of the stock rims. I believe the lift kit you are looking to buy has larger steering nuckles (I might be wrong on that one) but one of the components is larger requiring more backspacing. You will need to get rims with more backspacing. Sorry for the bad news but you will need to invest more money.
