Pretty sure its 75-90 up front and 75-140 in the rear with friction modifier. Someone chime in if im wrong. Or you can try to search, I know there's several threads on it. If all else fails, google it.

I'm running Lucas Oil in mine when I put a Mag-Hytec diff cover on the rear. If you change out your diff oil, make sure you get friction modifier from Ford for it.

I'm assuming the lucas oil is fully synthetic, right? How much does ford want for the friction modifier?

You can get limited slip additive from any parts store.
As for gear oil, don't waist your money on expensive synthetic gear lube!
Just regular old 80/90 gear oil is just fine with the limited slip additive.

I agree. Don't blow your money on synthetic unless you absolutely want to. I just ran with the standard Lucas Oil Gear Lube that Autozone had. I can't remember if it was synthetic or not.

The friction modifier I got from the local Ford dealership had it for about $6.00. I was told by a friend that works at the local Ford that it is a must for rear ends so you don't get that chatter from it.

I suggest run with any gear lube that you want, but make sure you put that modifier in there at the same time you do your rear end lube change.

The friction modifier you talk about is just a new fancy way to say limited slip additive.lol
But yes your right no matter if you get ford additive or a parts store additive,if you have a limited slip in your diff it is a must!

I have put a lot of miles on these 99-03 f150s and i ran all of them with regular old 80-90 gear oil and never had any wear issues.
The head tech at my local ford dealership said ford started running those expensive gear lubes in an attempt to get better fuel economy in colder climates.
