Default fuel related issue

i have an 03 supercrew with the 5.4 in it and yesterday it shut off while driving. After a few cycles of the key i was able to get it started only to go another mile down the road. Then i could not get the truck to fire at all. Now this morning when i went out to look at the truck the first time i tried to fire it up the fuel pump kick on for half a second then stopped and the truck would not fire. After a two or three cycles of the key the fuel pump kicked on like it was suppose to and the truck would run fine until i shut it off... I have just changed to relay last night when it wouldnt fire and all the fuses are fine. Is this the fuel pump going out or could it be something else?

Have you changed the fuel filter latley? Fuel pump could be a possibility but not 100%. Also a gunked throttle body can cause the same symptoms.

After going to the shrader valve to make sure that there is fuel to the fuel rail i noticed a broken vaccum line going to the throttle body. i change that out and after a few more cycles of the key the truck finally started and runs fine. Im not sure if it was that vaccum line or the fuel pump but the problem is finally fixed. I believe my issue was not cycling the key enough times before trying to start the truck after i installed the fuel pump
